Simdesk.net

Simdesk.net is a web application in beta testing that supports medical simulation teaching using an electronic patient record. It is not currently provided commercially and is only used by organisations taking part in our testing process.

What we collect

When you log in to Simdesk.net, we collect and store your name, email address, and service ID number. The ID number is provided by the login service you use (Microsoft or Google) and does not give us any other details about you.

We only request your account details at the point of login. We do not check or retrieve this information at any other time.

Why we collect it

This information is used only to provide you with access to the site and its features, including creating or taking part in simulation training.

Your name allows course organisers to find you and add you to their resources. Your email address is not visible to them unless you explicitly give permission. We never share your information with third parties.

How long we keep it

For accounts with faculty permissions, we keep your details as long as an active organisation continues to list you as faculty.

For other users, your account (name and email) will be deleted if you have not logged in within one year. If you have taken part in training (for example, been assigned to a course), your name will be retained for up to five years after your last login to allow trainers to view accurate course information.

Your rights

You have rights under data protection law (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information.

You can delete your name and email address at any time by closing your account. We will retain your service ID number so that you can re-open your account by logging in again. You may contact us if you would like this ID number removed as well.

Changes

This privacy notice may be updated from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page and shown on your user dashboard after login.
